What you'll be doing

As a member of the Assets Team this role contributes to the successful delivery of the Asset Management Strategy. As a Disrepair Claims Officer you will be required to support the Assets and Development Manager in managing disrepair claims to contribute to the continued success of our asset management strategy. You will be required to work collaboratively with Customers, Contractors, Technical Officers and Consultants to ensure the claims are processed in line with regulatory guidance & legal protocol.

You will be based at Calico Head Office, Centenary Court, Croft Street, Burnley, Lancashire, BB11 2ED.

Your hours of work would be 36.25 hours per week - Monday – Friday.

The salary for this role is £28,402 per annum.

What you’ll need to be a success

Essential:

Educated to GCSE level standard of equivalent.

Desirable:

GDPR legislation and requirements for your areas of responsibility.
Evidence of continuing professional development

Experience

-Experience of managing disrepair claims from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to legal protocol and timescales
-Experience of conducting initial investigations to gather necessary information and documentation
-Experience of interrogating technical reports, property repairs records, inspection reports and all other relevant files, producing formal, written responses/reports
-Experience of maintaining client databases
-Experience of maintaining professional and effective relationships
-Experience of studying & producing reports, using and manipulating data to make informed decisions
-Experience in recording and maintaining property documentation including budget monitoring documents
-Experience of using a variety of I.T systems and software to a high standard
-Experience of delivering against a range of key performance indicators
-Experience of maintaining accurate records
-Experience of working within a social housing organisation
-Experience of working with customers and consultants.

Skills and Knowledge

-Knowledge of Housing Disrepair Pre-Action Protocol and section 11 LTA legislation and relevant regulations
-Ability to work in a challenging environment whilst meeting deadlines
-Recording and maintaining property documentation including budget monitoring documents
-Ability to communication effectively at all levels and with a wide range of staff, customers, contractors and consultants
-Excellent decision making, communication and organisation skills
-Strong analytical and interpretation skills
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Maintaining professional and effective relationships
