Able Bridge Recruitment are excited to be working with a unique business based in Edinburgh in the recruitment of a senior financial controller.

A post has been created as the company are at a point in their journey where the accounts will need to be bought in-house. Currently the function is being completed by an external consultancy, however due to statutory obligations this will need to change.

The role holder will be in a stand-alone role and will work closely with operational heads of the holding companies our client owns, as well as working closely with the managing director/CEO. Bonus based on personal KPI`s and company performance.

The purpose of this role is to efficiently and effectively build robust financial controls, processes and policies regarding the finances of several group companies. The role holder will be expected to come onboard and understand the finances of several companies, present the health of these businesses to the board and recommend efficiencies into which products and services are highly profitable, which ones are less profitable and recommend financial improvements.

Full ownership of the financial function ranging from transactions management to statutory reporting/year end accounts.
Work closely with external stakeholders in the smooth transition of transferring the accounts in-house.
Build strong financial controls in order to retain full knowledge of cash position at all times.
Produce management accounts within agreed timeframes and present these to the leadership team/CEO/MD.
Full responsibility and accountability for reconciliation of bank accounts, sales ledger, purchase ledger etc.
Assist heads of business in making sound financial decisions and produce details financial reports for decision support purposes.
Completion of payroll journals and subsequent payment runs.

We are seeking a professionally qualified accountant who has at least 5 years post qualified work experience from within the UK however, if you hold significant experience of moving a finance function in-house and are not qualified (QBE), they may consider your application. Our client will be expecting the successful applicant to be based in the office on a blended working model, the model that we are working with is 60% in the office and 40% working at home, however this may change and you may be expected to work more often in the office. If, however, applicants wish to work longer in the office the option is available to them
