The Chief Scientific Officer is integral to NICE’s mission, and to the senior leadership team. This is an opportunity for an experienced leader, able and ready to operate at Board level, to make a unique and fundamental contribution to the core health economic methods and data analytics used in the Institute’s guidance and its research. The successful candidate will lead the development and deployment of new methods for use in guidance production across NICE and further develop the science policy, research and evidence functions of the Institute, ensuring appropriate use of real-world evidence and that opportunities offered by new technologies are taken full advantage of. NICE’s new Chief Scientific Officer will bring a track record of senior leadership in an area of work with high impact and complexity, and a deep understanding of methods and data for guidance production across health and social care. You will be committed to building inclusive and diverse organisations, and able clearly to articulate NICE’s vision for the development of data and methods for guidance production that are internationally leading as well as reflecting preferences of the society we serve.

This role may be based in either London or Manchester, where NICE has offices; the successful candidate should expect to spend roughly two days per week in the office.
