Accounting & Control is a function within our airline organisation responsible for providing an effective Financial Accounting & Control service to a range of internal and external customers that helps to meet the strategic imperatives of the business. The Accounting & Control function operates as a multi-disciplinary team of experts driving efficiency and innovation.
As the Financial Accountant – Airline Accounting & Control Operations you will be responsible for promoting compliance across the Airline’s financial accounting processes, ensuring a robust balance sheet while identifying any risks and opportunities as they emerge. You will develop and demonstrate a strong understanding of underlying accounting policies, processes, and systems together with commercial acumen and in order to attain optimal financial outcomes for the business while preserving the integrity of the financial ledgers of Northern Region Airlines specifically the Airline Operations function, whilst also supporting our Nordic colleagues as required.
This will be achieved by: maintenance of the chart of accounts; reviewing and challenging the Airline balance sheet while driving through improvements in quality and consistency of balance sheet reconciliations; leading on any technical accounting issues; deploying your expertise in supporting the Airline Functional Finance teams through business and system changes; In this role, you’ll report to the Finance Manager, Airline Accounting & Control.
As a Finance Accountant – Airline Accounting & Control – Operations, you’ll be responsible for:
• Ensuring completion and review of assigned Balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Support Airline project activity
• Support the delivery of internal and external audit deliverables
• Act as a key interface between the Airline Financial Accounting and Control team and its internal and external customers, including Airline commercial finance, intercompany and fixed assets, internal and external auditors and statutory authorities

Strong attention to detail and experience dealing with large volumes of data
• Finance professional with experience of Financial / Management Accounting
• Comfortable and confident in use of office and SAP systems
• Role requires strong business English, both spoken and written
