Role Overview

Assist the Production Manager by ensuring efficient operation of the production department through adherence to the defined production plan. Actively liaise with process Supervisors to ensure works orders are on schedule, mitigating risk of missed completion dates, while also taking a proactive review of upcoming planned works orders by liaising with all supporting functions. Providing feedback to the production manager of any potential delays / capacity overloads to allow re-planning or customer notification is key to this role.

Responsible for reporting on departmental KPIs specific to WiP control and efficiency, while also generating production documentation required for the production teams.

Role Responsibilities

  • Providing assistance to ensure department, individual and team KPIs are achieved within specified metrics as set by Production Manager.
  • Working with the Production Planner to ensure the production plans are accurately set and achievable.
  • Liaising with Production Supervisors and Production Planner to achieve all planned shipments.
  • Liaising with Account Managers and regularly attending weekly order book reviews to ensure the order book is current and reflective of production.
  • Generate and provide production reports for Production Manager to review in line with department PPIs and KPIs
  • Generate Production documentation required for shop floor.
  • Support with departmental improvement projects under guidance from Production Manager, involving cooperation from supporting functions.
  • Providing administrative support to Production and Production Manager.

Candidate Requirements

  • Self-autonomous and able to prioritize a variety of tasks ensuring completion of time bound tasks.
  • Be comfortable with both working as an individual and working within a wider team.
  • Tenacious, logical, problem-solving approach
  • Intermediate IT skills, with experience of using MS Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint etc) and comfortable with reporting tools (Pivot tables, Graphs, formulas etc.)
  • Must be a positive, driven, individual with good work ethic that is willing to drive improvements throughout the team.
