Sunbelt Fire is seeking an extraordinary Service Manager to help launch and lead our new Birmingham, AL full-service branch. The right candidate will support our new facility and growing team to repair and maintain fire apparatus for fire departments in the Central and North Alabama region while providing excellent customer service.
As a Service Manager at Sunbelt Fire, you are a self-starter ready to attack each day so you can best serve fire departments. You enjoy solving problems and serving someone who’s facing a challenging situation with equipment down and needed. You embrace your fellow team members as family, and you hold them and yourself accountable to always improve. - Lead, manage, and be accountable to all direct reports and department staff
- Provide all customers with superior customer service
- Provide excellent customer service, communication, and partnership with all internal Sunbelt Fire Departments
- Generate leads and close sales opportunities by working with customers and inside support managers
- Ensure proper onboarding, safety training, technical training, and continuing education of technicians
- Manage a positive and productive relationship with our vendor partners
- Participate in key customer meetings as needed to maintain relationship
- Manage and be accountable for all service revenue, costs, expenses, and margins
- Drive service department growth, achieving budgeted and profitability goals
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent sales and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Excellent follow up and customer relationship building skills
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED, required
- Knowledge of basic math principles
- Experience working with computer software systems
- Experience in work on and around fire equipment and apparatus, preferred
- Knowledge of fire department operations, values, and procedures, preferred
- Generally, works in an office type environment but with frequent time also spent in mechanical shop environment exposed to shop noise, heat, odors, and other shop conditions
- Travel will be common to customer sites and buildings with occasional overnight stays
