About us

Royds Hall is a small secondary school that achieved a Progress 8 score of 0.2 in 2023, and in March of the same year, Royds Hall was graded 'Good' in all categories by Ofsted. We enjoy strong behaviour for learning and a curriculum that is ambitious for all and well-sequenced. Staff wellbeing is central to our vision of 'valuing people, supporting personal best. Visitors and staff regularly share that the school is warm and supportive, with high expectations for all.

We also offer pupils a wealth of extended learning opportunities from Royds Hall Scholars, Duke of Edinburgh, debating society, and Steam Lab to knitting for fun. The PE department supports our pupils in representing the school in a wide range of sports, including basketball, netball, and athletics. We take part in the annual Speakers' Trust event and have been successful in reaching the final in recent years. Pupils gain from a wealth of opportunities offered, including leadership opportunities in every year group. In 2023, 100% of pupils took part in an extended learning opportunity. A strong belief exists that offering a wide range of extended learning opportunities ignites pupil interests and allows them to uncover skills and abilities that support their sense of achievement and happiness in school and into adulthood. Job Description

1. Lead on enhancing our voice through compelling content across our social media channels and website content;

2. Project manage the social media content planning and development of creative ways to showcase the schools’ strengths;

3. Produce the parental bulletin, ensuring it to informative, engaging and communicates the school’s values to all stakeholders;

4. Be responsible for the management of the Headteacher’s diary, dealing with all incoming communications for the Headteacher;

5. Deal with initial queries and complaints and use initiative in these matters where appropriate;

6. Be responsible for the word-processing of confidential documents and reports for the Headteacher, developing and maintaining the Headteacher’s filing system;

7. Responsible for the production of management information reports for the Headteacher, preparing reports for distribution to parents and outside bodies including paperwork for Permanent Exclusions;

8. Take and distribute minutes for various meetings as required;

9. Support SLT with confidential administration as required;

10. To be responsible for the monitoring of the policy review cycle relevant to administration;

11. To provide an administrative service if required to support the work of the Local Governing Body;

12. To be responsible for the preparation of letters, reports and circulars for distribution to parents and outside bodies in consultation with the Headteacher including the use of the My Ed system for distribution;

13. To ensure that good administration systems are in place ensuring GDPR compliance and are reviewed regularly;

14. To lead on the administration aspect of the organisation for Open Evening and GCSE Presentation evening including Alumni showcasing;

15. To lead on the whole school calendar, staff handbook and prospectus.

16. Organise the aesthetics for the school such as displays;

17. Any other responsibilities commensurate within the requirements for this role or as directed by the Administration Manager/Headteacher and flexibility to support colleagues across the School.

18. As part of your wider duties and responsibilities you are required to promote and actively support the School’s responsibilities towards Safeguarding.   • Two years’ administration experience.
  • GCSE English Language and Mathematics (Grade 4/ C).
  • Ability to prioritise to ensure that deadlines are met, whilst working under pressure.
  • Demonstrate effective team working and able to develop co-operative working relationships across the school
  • Ability to carry out general administrative skills and to deal with a variety of tasks such as filing and typing
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, on the telephone and face to face
  • Diplomatic approach in dealing with difficult situations.
  • Ability to use computer systems to an advanced level, including Microsoft Office and database systems
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all matters
