As the Lead Centre for Paediatric Intensive Care services for the West Midlands, we care for critically ill children from a wide range of specialties including cardiac, ECMO, liver, medical, oncology, renal, surgery, neuro and trauma.


If you are an experienced (6 months post qualifying), paediatric, adult or neonatal nurse we would welcome your application. No critical care experience is necessary. We provide a fantastic 18 month educational Foundation Programme however, depending on your qualifications and experience, fast track is available for leadership and development opportunities.


As an experienced band 5 (6 months plus) you job will be:

All staff will be supported in order to develop professional expertise in Paediatric critical care.
Professional development will support NMC and mandatory requirements and meet service need.

Recognised Paediatric Intensive Care qualification
Mastery of English language - spoken and written

Able to organize daily workload to ensure high quality and safe care and work well and support of surrounding team
Must demonstrate good health and attendance at work and be able to work a range of shifts spanning the 24 clock.
Must have occupational health clearance
Able to engage with IT programs to support patient care and be able to communicate effectively via email.
Punctual and flexible across hours of work when required
Demonstrate an understanding of the practices of equality and inclusion in the delivery of this role
Willingness to participate fully with PICU Foundation Programme and consolidation
