Making sure you fit the guidelines as an applicant for this role is essential, please read the below carefully. Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee CNC Machining and Welding operations ensuring high attention to detail and safety
  • Take a lead role in risk assessments and tools box talks
  • Co-ordinate activity in consultation with the Mechanical Supervisor and Planner
  • Act as focal point for all machining and fabrication activity
  • Take leadership responsibility for contractors and visitors within the workshop
  • Ensure timesheets and inspections reports are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
  • Lead the implementation, development, maintenance and improvement of CNC and Fabrication procedures and ensure their on-going use
  • Ensure QC checks are executed as and when required
  • Adhere to all company quality related policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workshop and yard area
  • Be able to operate the forklifts, cranes and vertical lift platforms when trained to do so
  • Ensure adherence to all local waste management policies and procedures
  • Report and participate in investigation of all unsafe practices and/or behaviours
  • Ensure all maintenance & recertification activities for workshop equipment are implemented and updated accordingly
  • Monitor workshop activities to ensure all projects are executed efficiently and in line with HMH quality standards
  • Report on progress and deviations pertaining to ongoing projects
  • Ensure resources are appropriately allocated
  • Provide input to the annual appraisal process for the machine shop
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to HMH Values, Compliance, Integrity and HSSE
Skills and Knowledge
  • Qualified to HNC/NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in relevant mechanical or fabrication discipline
  • Previous experience managing CNC/fabrication teams
  • Understanding of CNC machine controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak, or equivalent
  • Highly organised with ability to prioritise and communicate goals effectively
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (English language)
