As Maintenance Assistant you will be expected to support the maintenance operation in place on the site. This support is co-ordinated through the Facilities Manager who will guide and direct the daily duties of work.

You will provide a level of General Building Maintenance, including Mechanical, Electrical and Fabric, as part of a small multi-disciplinary building Service’s Team and will be part of the on-call response team.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Performance

Support the achievement of a ‘Best in Class’ approach to Engineering and Fabric services including those provided through supplier organisations.

Ensure that all engineering services are properly maintained and are providing the environmental conditions and exceeding the business needs required by the Client.

Carry out M&E and Fabric repairs and alterations, as instructed, ensuring safety at all times.

To complete minor scheduled maintenance activities, on all plant, fabric and equipment.

Maintain a safe working environment for all building users and the ISS engineering team and suppliers/contractors.

Compliance

Ensure the records of all maintenance activities are accurate and kept up-to-date within the CAFM System and office filing system. These documents must be audit ready at all times.

Take reasonable care not to put other people - fellow employees and members of the public - at risk by what you do or don’t do in the course of your work.

Ensure compliance with all H&S legislation in your work.

Support the site Emergency Response procedures.

General

Attend all relevant meetings.

Ensure workmanship is of a very high standard at all times, clearing up tools, unused materials and waste as part of the job.

Support workplace audits and identify areas of improvement or success.

Accept and respond to any reasonable request to perform tasks not specifically contained within this document and carry out reasonable requests within the spirit of the contract.

Personal and Team

Contribute to a team approach with all specialist support staff and other Team Members

Effective communication.

Conform to internal reporting procedures for timesheets, expenses, etc.

Not to interfere with or misuse anything that’s been provided for your health, safety or welfare

KEY COMPETENCIES:

Desired Qualifications:

* NVQ level 2 in building Fabric and system maintenance

Desired Experience:

* Previous experience of building maintenance within a Service Industry

* Previous experience of working in a busy demand led environment

* Previous experience of working with a CAFM System

Skills:

* Good organisational skills

* Good level of IT skills

* Good understanding of general H&S in the workplace

* Good level of verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative

* Ability to prioritise own workload and achieve deadlines

* The ability to communicate and work effectively with customers and teams at all levels

* A customer service approach to problem solving

* Able to work as part of a team or independently
