You'll need to be a creative thinker and excellent project manager with the ability to process highly complex ideas and concepts quickly, turning them into consistent messages that resonate with colleagues. You'll be running projects, events and campaigns to deliver a transformative impact on culture and patient experience.
This role is a key member of a small but dynamic communications team and will take ownership for developing a wide range of relationships across the Trust.
You will line manage a communications officer and be responsible for their on-going development.
Key relationships include the executive leadership team, key corporate functions, including People and Organisational Development colleagues as well as clinical leadership teams to support engagement among medical staff.

As we prepare to celebrate our 150th anniversary in 2026, we are looking forward to launching our new helipad supporting our role as a Paediatric Major Trauma Centre; continuing to make developments to improve patient and colleague experience and creating new innovative care models with a focus on communities and population health.
We will also deliver the first National Centre for Child Health Technology, which will be based at the Olympic Legacy Park in Sheffield, which will build on our reputation as a leader in children's health and give us the opportunity for a new site for clinical services.

Qualifications and Training
Evidence of continuous professional development in communications/PR
Writing, editing, and producing publications
Management of a variety of communication channels including website, intranet and social media and ability to use content management systems.
Experience of managing social media platforms and developing content for digital channels, particularly LinkedIn.
Development of policies
Specialist knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience of internal communications.
Specialist knowledge of communications, PR and marketing techniques.
Advanced software skills (MS Office, intranet packages, email software).
Able to have frequent periods of concentration and cope with frequent interruptions / deal with issues as they arise, prioritising heavy workloads and managing multiple projects at the same time
Analytical and data presentation skills.
