We are a veterinary technology start-up from on a mission to improve the lives of millions of animals worldwide by combing AI technology with veterinary insights.
Our team are developing novel products that provide vets and animal owners with new information to empower improvements to animal welfare. These products are already being used by leading veterinary practices, consultants, and a UK supermarket.
We are a spinout from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science at the University of Nottingham with excellent links with researchers, veterinary consultants and the wider industry.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated veterinary surgeon to join our growing team. This individual will be a skilled communicator who is passionate about herd health. This role is critical in creating outreach strategies and crafting compelling stories to promote our product domestically and abroad. The role will also involve the early development and testing of new products.
As an integral member of our start-up, you will work closely with vets, farmers, other animal owners as well as with our highly skilled team of computer science developers.
You will join colleagues at our office 1-2 days a week. The role is based at the Innovation Park at the University of Nottingham and involves occasional travel to farms and conferences.
Responsibilities:
- Support users in creating maximum value from our products
- Build and deliver training resources including CPD for vets.
- Collaborate with the broader team to improve our products and iterate features based on client feedback.
- Collaborate with farmers and vets to schedule visits, coordinate data collection, and assist in technology deployment.
- Communicate effectively with farmers and livestock handlers.
- Apply your problem-solving skills to address any technical challenges that may arise.
- Actively contribute insights, ideas, and suggestions to foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Requirements:
- Passion for improving animal health and welfare.
- Degree veterinary science or similar and an MRCVS
- Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience and an interest in dairy.
- Interest and/or experience in equine medicine is also beneficial
- Passion for herd health and using insights from data to improve animal health and welfare.
- Additional qualifications such as a certificate, diploma or other post-graduate qualification is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and experience engaging with farmers and other stakeholders (vets, welfare assurance, cooperatives).
- Excellent organisational skills
- Growth mindset and ability to learn quickly.
- Full UK drivers’ licence.
