An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, empathetic physiotherapist with oncology and haematology experience to join our established, supportive therapy team working with inpatients across the following clinical settings oncology, haematology and infectious diseases.
Main duties of the job
To support the development of the physiotherapy service for haematology (malignant and non-malignant conditions), oncology and infectious diseases patients.
To provide high standard of physiotherapy assessment, treatment, advice and discharge planning for the haematology, oncology and infectious diseases patient group across inpatient and outpatient settings.
To initiate and participate in evidence-based projects, including recommendations for change in practice and to lead in departmental audit in the clinical area.
To participate in teaching and educational events for therapy colleagues, MDT and undergraduate physiotherapy students

Qualifications and Training
Essential

  • oDegree or equivalent in physiotherapy
  • oHPC registration
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development including attendance at recent post graduate courses relevant to the clinical field

Desirable

  • Recognised post-graduate qualification e.g. MSc
  • Membership of Special Interest Group ACPOPC
  • oLeadership training

Experience
Essential

  • Experience of undertaking clinical audiT
  • Minimum of 1 year's NHS experience (can include undergraduate experience).
  • A minimum of 4 years post graduate experience with at least 2 years in haematology and oncology
  • Broad range of experience at Band 5 and 6 level including respiratory, neurology and musculoskeletal specialities
  • knowledge and experience of a wide range of approaches to the management of haematology and oncology patients demonstrated by advanced clinical reasoning
  • Experience of managing other physiotherapy staff
  • Experience of teaching in a clinical setting
  • Experience of student supervision/ clinical education
  • Experience of multidisciplinary team working
