Job Description

SQL Database Engineer / Analyst | SaaS EdTech | Hybrid - Once/Twice a month in Huddersfield

As a SQL Developer / Database Engineer for our award-winning SaaS client, you'll join an agile, Scrum-based team, contributing to the creation and maintenance of complex scripting for advanced analytics in the EdTech / tech4good sector.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Execute pre-existing SQL scripts and procedures for data analytics.
  • Optimize data extraction and processing operations in SQL Server.
  • Refine and improve existing procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Perform ad hoc SQL queries to generate metrics and insights.
  • Develop new SQL Server functionality as part of ongoing product development.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of database structures.

Required Skills:

  • Experienced Database Engineer, SQL Developer or BI professional with SQL Development experience
  • Strong skills in MS SQL Server, with experience in querying and developing stored procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including complex formulas and macros.
  • Good relational database design skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow defined processes diligently.
  • Great attention to detail and experience with complex data.

Desired but not essential:

  • Azure SQL
  • SSRS
  • Power BI or other BI tools
  • Azure DevOps
  • MongoDB

Salary / Benefits:

  • Circa £45,000
  • Remote working with occasional office travel (once a month).
