The Gastroenterology department currently comprises 6 whole time consultants and two working less than full time.
In-patient Gastroenterology services are based on Castle ward, a 25 bedded General Medical/Gastroenterology ward. The ward operates a self-admission policy for patients known to the unit with specific gastrointestinal problems (IBD, chronic liver disease, GI malignancy in particular).
IBD clinic, hepatology, viral hepatitis, two-week wait, coeliac/nutrition clinic). The medical gastroenterology service is supported by 2 SpR, 1 IMT2, 1 FY2 and 2 FY1 doctors.
With our central location and great transport links we are closer than you might think. We are located in the heart of England with easy access to the motorway network and a good railway service. Surrounded by a collection of picturesque towns and villages, there is always a lot to see and do across the County. Numerous sport and leisure venues, theatres, parks and great shopping facilities make Warwickshire an idyllic place to work and live.

As a locum consultant, you will be expected to be flexible and take an equal share in responding to the identified needs of the service. They will be expected to support emergency care with providing out-of-hours endoscopy. Gastrointestinal endoscopy
