About the Role

This is a newly created role which is supported by the Victorian Government and is responsible for strategically planning and implementing a whole of council approach towards gender equality and primary prevention initiatives. The new position reports to the Manager, People & Safety and works closely with key internal and external stakeholders across Council to embed a gender lens and intersectional approach across all areas of service delivery. The focus of the position is to:

  • drive gender equity and inclusion strategies, programs and practices that promote the development of a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce
  • promote positive attitudes, behaviour and culture change at HRCC and within community programs and services to prevent family violence and all forms of violence against women
  • increase internal and community awareness and understanding of the drivers of family violence and all forms of violence against women, including prevention strategies

About You

If you ideally have:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating health and wellbeing projects
  • Experience in developing and implementing diversity, equity and inclusion programs
  • Understanding of and successful working relationships with the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities and partner organisations.
