Please note that regular travel between our head offices in Blackburn and Leeds is required for this role.
Manage monthly accounts, overseeing preparation from trial balance to financial statements for multiple entities.
Coordinate and review month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial tasks.
Review the balance sheet reconciliation process for multiple entities.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Plan and execute audit processes, ensuring prompt completion and maintaining auditor relationships.
Oversee preparation and submission of year-end statutory accounts compliant with IFRS & local GAAP.
Ensure adherence to internal policies across all tasks and activities.
Continuously assess and enhance finance systems, processes, and controls.
Implement the latest accounting policies and standards.
Undertake various ad-hoc projects as needed.
Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with 3+ years post qualified experience.
Thorough understanding of IFRS and/or Local GAAP.
Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with internal controls and audit processes.

Following the acquisition of convenience sites from the Co-op Group and EG Group during the last two years, there are circa 470 stores which are in the process of being converted to Asda Express. Each store stocks up to 3,000 branded and own-label products to suit a broad range of customer needs including top up shops for essential items such as milk and bread, grabbing lunch on the go or cooking dinner from scratch.
