**About the team**

You'll be joining a small, high performing team which manages the financial control and reporting of the Praetura Asset Finance Group. The team works with both the wider finance team and alongside different departments. We support by providing insights and information, and facilitate quality and timely financial reporting. Being a deadline driven role, the work is fast paced, varied, and challenging, providing plenty of opportunity to develop knowledge and skills, creatively solve problems and support the business in achieving its goals.

**About the role**

The Group Accounts Assistant will report into the Financial Accountant and will be based in our Blackburn office (hybrid of office based and work from home).

Main duties include, but are not limited to:

- Processing accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring accurate postings made to relevant entity ledgers, in accordance with Group accounting policies.
- Ownership for the preparation of the monthly bank reconciliation for Praetura Asset Finance and Kingsway Asset Finance, along with the posting of bank transactions in the Xero accounting system.
- Responsibility for accruals, prepayments and fixed assets, making relevant postings.
- Responsibility for accurate and timely production of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Responsibility for daily banking tasks, posting of payments and allocation of agreements to funders within the Guardian system.
- Administration and ownership of weekly accounts payable payment runs, corporate card expenditure and expenses system.
- Posting of relevant transactions as appropriate within financial ledgers, using Xero.
- Daily reconciliations of BACS collections and remittances to funders.
- Posting of payments and allocation of agreements to funders within the Guardian system.
- To review, alongside the Financial Controller, processes for continual improvement to further develop the financial processes and control environment.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements for the relevant entities.
- Preparation of information for auditors and corporation tax advisors as required
- Opportunities to develop and take on more responsibilities across the team in the future to provide progression and career development.

**Who we're looking for**
- Part qualified ACCA/CIMA (or looking to study).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and a desire to develop their skills further. Have a strong eye for detail and accuracy.
- A methodical and logical thinker.
- A team player who can work to deadlines.
- Experience in a financial services environment is desirable, but not essential.
