Scarborough North Yorkshire, United Kingdom York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Contract Type: Permanent

If you are looking to begin or progress your career as a Band 5 Dietitian in a supportive department which emphasises clinical supervision and peer support, as well as learning and development across the Four Pillars of Practice, this may be the post for you

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the growing team of over 30 Dietitians in York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as a Dietitian based at Scarborough Hospital. We will support you to develop skills across many areas of acute hospital work. If you are a newly qualified Dietitian in your first year of practice, we have a Preceptorship programme to help support development of your skills and confidence as an autonomous practitioner.

You will be working with other Dietitians, Dietetic Support Workers and Assistant Practitioners, and together you will provide inpatient services across areas, including General Medicine, Surgery, Critical Care, Gastroenterology, Care of the Elderly, Cancer and Renal disease.

Within the acute setting, in addition to oral nutrition support, you will be able to develop clinical skills working with patients requiring enteral tube feeding and parenteral nutrition.

You will mainly be working within Scarborough Hospital, however there will also be the opportunity to work cross-site when required, including at York Hospital.

The department places a strong emphasis on clinical and peer support and clinical supervision, and has a well-established programme facilitating the training of Dietetic students on the three clinical placements included within their training. We are also involved in delivering a variety of rolling training programmes for other healthcare professionals across the Trust, relating to nutritional care.
