Job Overview: Working closely with our client, a leading injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team to drive continued business growth. Remit:
- This position will suit an experienced Business Development or Technical Sales professional with a background in plastic injection moulding manufacturing and respective products.
- This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated BDM with proven experience within technical sales / business development / account management of injection moulded parts.
- The successful candidate will be joining a forward-thinking company at an exciting time for the business as they look to continue to drive business growth and capitalize on recently securing new customer orders.
- As Business Development Manager you will drive sales and profitability for the business, generating leads, building and maintaining customer relationships.
- The Business Development Manager will provide a point of contact for key customers; building and maintaining strong customer relationships that exceed their expectations.
- In the role of Business Development Manager you will be the focal point of contact between the business and designated customers across the UK & Ireland
- Build peer support and strong internal company relationships with other key management personnel.
- Work closely with the General Manager and Sales Director to build a business marketing plan to maximise company return on investment.
- Ensure that all opportunities for business development with existing and new customers are further explored, that the customer has sufficient support in product design, tool design, and the suitability of materials, to enable to quote for profitable new business
- To conduct regular customer supply chain reviews to proactively maximise service levels, minimise fines and warranty issues, improve product availability and provide forecast information for review with the planning and operations team.
- Develop relationships with key contacts across the supply chain, marketing and sales.
- Understand, manage and help to resolve customer service issues regarding delivery, pricing and service levels.
- To work with the Senior Management Team on key tenders / projects and strategic product selections as required.
- Producing price lists and evaluation of profit margins.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development / sales / account management
- A background & proven commercial experience within injection moulding or other disciplines of plastics manufacturing
- A good knowledge and understanding of the plastics industry
- Strong, professional communication skills including the ability to create and deliver presentations across various media formats in a stimulating and professional manner.
- Strong negotiation skills at all levels in a competitive business environment.
- An advisory approach towards the customer, considering all possible issues and creating the right solution
- Capable of multitasking and organising time effectively. The role will involve working across multiple projects at any one time.
- Commercially astute with the ability to demonstrate business understanding.
- Cost control and budget management skills.
- Problem solving and attention to detail
