Senior Assistant Teacher Role:

The role of Cover Supervisor, overseeing entire classes during teacher's short-term absences.
Provide support and intervention to withdrawal and small groups as necessary.
Lead Assistant Teachers when required.
Collaborate with teaching staff in all aspects of planning, including resource management.
Enhance the delivery of the national curriculum in alignment with teacher instructions and contribute to the evolution of Academy policies and strategies.
Support pupils, teachers, and the school in enhancing overall achievement standards for all students, including those with special educational needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners, Gifted and Talented (GT) students, Free School Meal (FSM) recipients, and underachievers.
This involves utilising advanced knowledge and skills in planning, monitoring, assessing, and class management.
Foster independence among students, provide welfare support, and promote inclusive practices across all school activities.
Supporting Teaching and Learning: Assist the teacher in delivering lessons and providing support to individual students or small groups.
Classroom Management: Help maintain discipline and create a conducive learning environment.
Resource Preparation: Assist in preparing teaching materials, setting up equipment, and organising resources for lessons.
Assessment and Feedback: Assist in assessing student's work and providing constructive feedback under the guidance of the teacher.
Behavioural Support: Assist in managing challenging behaviour, implementing behaviour management strategies, and supporting student's social and emotional development.
Administrative Tasks: Help with administrative duties such as record-keeping, maintaining student records, and organising classroom resources.
Communication: Maintain effective communication with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student's progress, achievements, and any concerns. Qualifications ideal but not essential:

NVQ level 2 in numeracy & literacy (or equivalent)
Range of relevant CPD in preparation for the role
HLTA qualification
