It is an exciting time to join their team, with real opportunities to build a successful career. We are recruiting for a Health and Safety officer for their site in Bootle, Liverpool. Role Purpose. Reporting into the Senior Health and Safety Manager, this role will be responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety at our Liverpool Site, reporting to the Health and Safety Manager. Key duties will include:
- Advising the management on safety issues as well as employing the company’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- Working together and reporting to the health and safety manager.
- Monitoring and controlling safety and compliance on site as per regulations and policies.
- Conducting safety inspections and internal audits and reporting to management with suggestions.
- Ensure preventive measures, administrative control and personal protective equipment are implemented and used.
- Investigate and report accidents and near misses.
- Record keeping of all safety events, including near misses, training, and drills.
- Conduct site pest inspections and report any issues internally and externally.
- Complete site Health and safety monthly reports.
- Fire safety audits and fire alarm testing to be conducted and site evacuations.
- Attend and report on group morning meetings.
- Training and coaching of Health and Safety best practice.
- Experience in a similar Health and Safety role.
- Demonstrable experience in the Food/manufacturing/FMCG industry preferable.
- Excellent understanding of Health and Safety legal requirements and best practice.
- A team player who is also able to lead by example.
- Strong communicator.
- Astute individual with the confidence to manage and challenge where needed to ensure the health and safety of all employees, customers, and contractors.
- Willing to “do the do” when required.
- Ability to manage health and safety project work.
- 25 days Annual Leave + bank holidays.
