I have a new and exciting permanent role for a Business Development/Account Manager to join a blue-chip CRO with an extensive worldwide network and offices. Offering CMC and analytical development services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical devices sector. You will develop strong, long term relationships and be able to successfully operate across a GMP compliant market place with a strong grasp of the technical requirements in involved in product drug development, analytical characterisation, Clinical studies, technical transfer and manufacturing. The role is home based and can located in the UK as long as you have good access to main transport links such as airports and rail network. Responsibilities Duties as the Business Development/Account Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Analyzes, innovate and creates a plan for engaging the target market, identify, prioritise and lead sales growth through external events, client contact activity, create clients relationship and partnership programming
  • Manage major proposals, identify potential clients, track, build relationships and close sales opportunities
  • Act as the central point of contact for Core analytical Services enquires and connect with operations, technical experts and marketing to drive co-hesive growth with pre-determined marketing budget
  • Working across analytical services including Chemistry and Microbiology from drug development through to commercial product (QC testing)
  • You will work closely with the commercial development team providing market knowledge, market knowledge and influences and work with company CRM, to ensure client information is current
  • As the Business Development /Account Manager you will be expected to deliver presentations to new and existing customers, interact across all communication platforms on a regular basis and be the face of the company at key events, conferences and exhibitions.
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level, ideally in the life sciences, and with at least three years’ direct experience in a contract services environment – CDMO, CRO, Suppliers.
  • Direct experience of selling of contract testing, drug development service across small molecule, chemistry/microbiology and large molecule (Protein) would be highly advantageous.
  • Must have operated in a customer facing role interacting in the Pharmaceutical / CMO/ biotechnology sector with proven experience of managing customers, expectations and Key Account management.
  • Strong commercial background with prior experience of generating costing proposals, implementing sales plans and working to sales related targets.
