We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and positive person for an exciting opportunity within our Emergency Care Division.

This is an exciting time within the division as we start to prepare for our move into the new UECC while maintaining and continuing to improve our current performance and service provision. This is a great opportunity for the right person to hone their leadership qualities and skills.

Experience of working within Emergency Care, evidence of working collaboratively across other Divisions, Site Operations, and a range of staff groups including Medical, Nursing, Therapy and Senior Operational Leaders, and the ability to work with external partners will be essential.

There will be opportunities to further develop your skills and understanding of Quality Metrics and Measures (including the Accountability Framework), Financial Governance, writing and presenting reports to a range of forums, Business Planning and Quality Improvement initiatives. Aswell as leading the mobilisation of our large scale transformation project with the move to the new UECC.

Reporting to the General Manager, this is a key leadership role within the Medicine Division at Ipswich Hospital.

You should be highly motivated, organised and able to work under high pressure.

Main duties of the job

To lead and develop the designated specialties within the Division with responsibility for operationally managing the service.

To ensure the achievement of National, Regional, Trust and Divisional Key performance indicators, to deliver a high quality, effective service, where patient experience and patient safety is central.

Responsible for ensuring the services are delivering against key standards and objectives, and are fit for purpose (e.g. GIRFT) In particular financial expenditure targets, costs control, CIPS, CQUIN, and activity targets for the Services.

Act as a champion for patient safety, operational effectiveness and quality.

Provide visible operational leadership to the relevant clinical specialties and promote continual improvement in quality, performance and delivery of Trust objectives

Lead the establishment of accountability structures within the relevant clinical specialties ensuring that responsibility is delegated appropriately so that decisions can be taken as close to service provision as possible.

Lead, manage and motivate staff within the relevant clinical specialties to deliver and improve services so meeting the needs of patients.

Line management of administrative staff, either directly or through delegated responsibility.

Develop the business and planning processes throughout the relevant clinical specialties to deliver services to required standards and within the available resource base

Person Specification Experience
