National Student Volunteering Officer
We are looking to recruit two National Student Development Officers to join our team and grow our student development offer. In particular, we’re looking for one officer to focus on student healthcare professional development, including working with the Clinical team to review and update the clinical volunteering offer for student HCPs, and another officer to focus on leadership development of Student Volunteers, including reviewing and improving our yearly Student Leadership Training offer. At times, other smaller projects may arise, in which case these will be shared as appropriate between the wider Student Volunteering Team or the two National Student Development Officers.
St John Ambulance is the charity that steps forward in the moments that matter, to save lives and support communities. Each year, across the country, our Student Volunteering programme sees thousands of university students learn essential first aid skills, many hundreds of volunteering opportunities in a wide range of roles, and a full calendar of fundraising, development and social activities.
The Student Volunteering Team is looking to appoint a National Student Volunteering Officer to oversee project-based work within the Student Volunteering team. This voluntary role will work closely with regional and district-based colleagues, and various other St John teams, to produce student-specific guidance and information. There will also be opportunities to plan and deliver large-scale projects with the support of the rest of the team.
Experience and interest in the university volunteering environment is important for this role, which is not tied to any specific region, district or area of the country.
Successful candidates would be expected to attend monthly Student Volunteering leadership meetings as well as quarterly National Student Volunteering Team meetings.Closing date for this vacancy is Monday 12th June 2023.
