Buying Assistant - Fresh Produce - Woods Foodservice (based at Uxbridge, Middlesex, UB8 2YF)

Here at Woods Foodservice, we are known as market leaders in the quality sector of the catering industry. We are at an exciting point of progression in the company with our relatively new Fresh Produce Unit. We are looking to enhance our expertise in this area by adding a Junior Fresh Produce Buying Assistant to this area, to ensure a reflection in this range that our ambient, chilled and frozen sectors already possess. Assisting the fresh produce buyers with buying administrative support such as running daily reports, supporting them with placing orders, processing credits, etc.
Stepping in to support the team in busier period of the year and for holiday cover. This may include driving back and forth from the fresh produce market.
Helping to check deliveries when they arrive throughout the night and splitting the pallets to check and detect any issues with the orders to feed back to suppliers.
Checking waste and assisting with shorts throughout the night.
Providing assistance with analysis work in order to pinpoint areas for improvement to the senior buyers to use for insight.
Assisting with placing direct orders and remotely assisting with market buyers by helping them organize order lists.
Developing strong working relationships with Technical, Operations and Commercial Teams.
Experience in stock replenishment.
Experience of buying Fresh Produce is preferred.
Must hold a UK Driving License, no more than 6 points.
Confident driving 3.5 tonne Vans.
Must have a Forklift License.
Understanding of the supply chain process.
