We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef specializing in Curry and Tandoor cuisine to lead our kitchen team at an upcoming fine dining Indian restaurant in Mayfair, London. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and creativity in a high-end dining environment.
Responsibilities:
Menu Development:
Create innovative and authentic Indian curry and tandoor dishes that meet the standards of fine dining. Develop seasonal menus that incorporate traditional and contemporary flavors while maintaining consistency and quality.
Kitchen Management:
Oversee all aspects of the kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating. Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to ensure freshness and minimize wastage. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards.
Team Leadership:
Lead, train, and motivate the kitchen team to achieve excellence in food quality, presentation, and service. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
Quality Control:
Conduct regular tasting sessions to evaluate the taste, texture, and presentation of dishes. Implement feedback and adjustments as needed to maintain high standards and customer satisfaction.
Cost Management:
Monitor food costs and kitchen expenses to achieve budgetary targets while upholding quality standards. Work closely with management to analyze financial performance and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
Customer Satisfaction:
Work closely with front-of-house staff to understand customer preferences and feedback. Ensure that dishes are prepared and presented to exceed guest expectations, providing an exceptional dining experience.
Innovation and Creativity:
Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques, incorporating new ideas and ingredients into the menu. Experiment with flavor combinations and cooking methods to enhance the restaurant's reputation for culinary excellence.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Chef specializing in Indian cuisine, with a focus on curry and tandoor dishes.
Extensive knowledge of Indian spices, herbs, and cooking techniques.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor a diverse team.
Creativity and passion for culinary excellence, with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
Relevant culinary qualifications and certifications are desirable.
Eligibility to work in the UK.
