Brief Description

We are seeking a Systems Support Manager to lead and direct system and database management processes within the Orpington Maintenance Delivery Unit and branching depots. The function will support multiple engineering disciplines including Track, Drainage, Signalling and Telecoms. The successful candidate will implement best practice with The Asset Data Management for Ellipse and Geogis Standard – ensuring process adherence and compliance concerning our infrastructure assets.

About the role

Key Accountabilities

1. Manage, coordinate and validate the upgrade, update, maintenance and utilisation of all systems and databases within the delivery unit.

2. Provide direction and support including briefings on the use of systems and databases within the delivery unit.

3. Manage the collation of information from the delivery unit team and third parties such that systems and databases are updated to provide accurate information at all times.

4. Manage data quality within systems and databases to meet corporate requirements.

5. Manage the integrated risk management process. Maintain and update the Active Risk Manager Database.

6. Resolve issues that adversely affect the effective performance of systems and databases.

7. Monitor, audit and report on the accuracy, receipt and updating of data.

8. Provide information to support delivery of business plans and improvement initiatives and project works.

9. Provide analysis and management reports as required to support maintenance delivery. Make recommendations where management action is required.

10. Accurately update systems, databases and records as required including the Hazard Directory.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Good time management
  • Ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines & timescales defined by NR Standards
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Desirable

  • Manage data management within the Delivery Unit following business processes & company standards
  • Ability to produce cohesive KPI Reports and audit queries with accurate asset and maintenance record keeping.
  • Plan, delegate, and monitor data analysis and data cleansing tasks to improve systems data quality assurance.
  • Provide support with work cost and volume reports for the Annual Base Plan
  • Technical knowledge processes used to manage changes to data concerning infrastructure assets.
  • Technical knowledge working with: Ellipse, Field Data Manager, MDM, SSM Maintenance Toolkits Business Objects (for Ellipse reports including KPI), National Hazard Directory (NHD), Integrated Network Model (INM), Geo-RINM, Route View, Power BI and FMS reports.
  • Requirements to support multiple Engineering Disciplines including Track, Off-Track, Signalling, and Telecoms
