Interim Public Health Principal Location: London (hybrid)
We are currently supporting one of our local authority clients to recruit a dynamic and skilled interim Public Health Principal, who will lead on the delivery of the public health workplan for babies, children, and young people (BCYP). This is a varied and fast-paced agenda so will require someone who has previously worked within a public health team covering babies, children and young people to be able to hit the ground running.
Key responsibilities of the Public Health Principal will include:
Developing an action plan for the Council’s BCYP strategy and monitoring the impact of implementation
Leading on the development and implementation of an infant feeding strategy, working across the system to increase breast feeding rates, including pre-birth and introduction to solids
Leading on healthy start, oral health and healthy weight for babies, children and young people, including providing Public Health input to local clinical pathway redesign
Developing and managing relationships with primary care to improve partnership working and co-ordination on the health of babies, children and young people
Experience and skills required for the Public Health Principal:
Must have previously worked at Public Health Principal level or similar covering children and young people
A Masters or degree in Public Health would be beneficial but is not essential
