Rullion are working with Drax who operates a generation portfolio of sustainable biomass, hydro-electric and pumped hydro storage assets across sites in England and Scotland. The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for the development and delivery of Capital Projects with Electrical Engineering, that supports the company’s long-term strategy.
Technical delivery lead for multiple major and minor capital projects according to project governance, and business plan.
Support budget development, and monitoring commitments and spend within authority limits.
Supports the management of significant, multi-million-pound contracts, and contract work execution taking the lead for Control & Instrumentation.
Work across Domestic (UK) and international projects and opportunities on behalf of the group.
People leadership responsibility of direct reports in the form of Engineers, Graduates, Trainees and indirect reports such as agency as required.
Knowledge and understanding of British and International codes and standards relevant to electrical design and operation (IEC/IEE/BS-EN).
Comprehensive understanding electrical protection schemes, High voltage switchgear/transformers/generators, electrical System design, operation, and maintenance, UK Electricity grid, including grid code compliance and Safe systems of work.
Proficiency in power system modelling software.
Excellent appreciation of other engineering disciplines, work, and their interaction with each other in a project setting.
Able to execute requirements of complex projects to help inform and shape the development process.
Ability to understand and interpret Electrical drawings and documents.
