Loan Portfolio Manager

London based office, hybrid working model

£30-£35K basic

My client is a Financial Services scale up which launched in 2017. They have been through multiple successful funding rounds (PE & VC) most recently securing equity investment from a specialist family office. They have agreed terms for a significant debt investment of £50 - £100M to support ambitious growth.

They have innovative lending solutions for High Networth Individuals to support on life changing events.

Since inception, my client has built an award-winning team that have been recognised by multiple industry awards. They have an excellent balance of working hard to achieve their goals while also learning and having fun along the way.

The successful candidate will join the close-knit Loan Management team - You will manage a portfolio of lending customers to ensure strong relationships & smooth loan repayment are made.

Key responsibilities:

Case management:

  • Manage the day to day relationships with HNW individual lending clients
  • Ensure we have up to date information on the case & understands the clients situation
  • Obtaining regular updates on cases and repayments from borrowers
  • Maintaining clear records of updates on the loan management system and internal files
  • Updating senior members of the team on the status of cases on a regular basis and reporting any potential issues or breaches
  • Escalating any possible issues & working with the Case Management and Recoveries Lead to remedy any breaches or other problems
  • Processing loan term extensions or any refinancing

Loan facility management:

  • Processing all invoices received, obtaining client authorisation for payment, and uploading to the CRM
  • Informing Head of Credit and Finance team of any expected repayments and managing redemption process
  • Identifying and conducting an initial assessment on any possible loan increases before referring to Underwriting

Document management & Compliance:

  • Checking and filing all executed documentation
  • Ensuring the Company’s compliance policies e.g. AML/data protection etc are adhered to in line with FCA regulations

Skills and Competencies

  • No direct previous experience is required as training will be provided, but a background in Financial Services or Fintech is plus
  • Highly organised with a strong focus on attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment and prioritise a varied and changing workload, with a ‘team first’ mindset
  • Effective communicator – you will be communicating verbally and in writing both internally, and externally to solicitors and to clients
  • Risk-focussed mindset with an attention to detail and the ability to identify potential risks in all decision-making activities
  • Customer focused - Customers are at the heart of what we do and many of them are going through difficult periods of their life and need our support.
  • Future Orientated - we are a rapidly growing company so require a candidate that will embrace change and implement good ideas that can give us the edge in the industry
