We welcome applications for this support post to take up post as soon as possible, for a period of one year, to cover a period of maternity leave.
The Counselling team is an integral part of the holistic pastoral care system at Cardinal Newman College. They offer counselling to all students at the college and work closely with the Achievement Tutor team and the Designated Safeguarding lead and their deputies.
The counselling team is part of the wellbeing services offered to c.The team consists of 3 qualified counsellors and 3 wellbeing practitioners. All counsellors are registered members of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their ethical framework. The wellbeing services team is centrally placed in the college and includes a wellbeing room and private counselling rooms.
To offer to all students at need an individual counselling service, employing a variety of counselling techniques tailored to individual needs;
To report any safeguarding issues to the college’s designated safeguarding team;

The Counselling team is looking for someone who has an understanding of the developmental, emotional, social and educational issues of students, very good interpersonal skills and someone who has a qualification in Counselling, minimum Diploma standard.
You should display the values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the Catholic Ethos of the College and have a commitment to equality/diversity and the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.
Hours: 25 hours per week, term time only. Closing date for receipt of applications: 11.59pm on Sunday 4th February 2024.
