We’re looking for an experienced Adult Counsellor, with experience of managing a team, supporting people to reach their potential whilst delivering a trauma informed counselling service to join our team, based in **East Lancashire**

You will provide specialist support, counselling, and therapy to Adult and/or CYP who have experienced sexual abuse, rape or sexualised violence.

You will lead a team of employed counsellors, freelance staff, students and volunteers working as part of the Operational Management team

There is also an opportunity to deliver pre-trial counselling, pre-counselling assessments, groupwork and peer support services with our clients as well as working with friends/family, carers and professionals to develop their understanding of the impact of sexual abuse, improving outcomes and support for those affected.

Essential Criteria:

- Recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy (minimum Diploma level 4 or 5)
- Minimum of 2 year’s post qualification or 100 hours counselling sessions
- Demonstrable understanding of issues and nature surrounding rape and sexual abuse and knowledge of the impacts of sexual violence
- Experience of managing/leading a team - either in a paid or voluntary capacity
- Understanding and committing to working within trauma informed principles
- An understanding of safeguarding issues, managing risk and safety and the legal responsibilities surrounding such issues

Working within the ethical framework(s) and code of conduct of a recognised professional body you will have experience of working with people in trauma. You will be able to utilise tools and skills creatively to work with people to fulfil their potential.

You will have a passion for delivering quality services and effective services and share that passion and experience with your colleagues and team to support a continuous learning culture.

You should have experience of managing teams and supporting then through setting clear objectives, 121’s, appraisals and other HR processes.

You will understand the importance of balancing the needs of the service, funders and clients and be able to monitor and report back on KPI’s and outcomes.

You should have a good working knowledge of managing risk and safety planning and have exceptional communication skills and the ability to develop partnerships with other services and organisations.

You will utilise administrative and case management systems in a timely way, accurately and effectively ensuring good practice regarding any sensitive and confidential material..

You will embrace being part of Team Birchall, working to all policies and practices and will be supported in your role with regular case management and the opportunity to join reflective practice, peer supervision and training/CPD.
