Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead an effective approach to employee relations, emphasising the addressing of poor performance and behaviours while prioritizing organizational safety.
  • Clarify the roles of employee relations and safeguarding, ensuring policy alignment and operational consistency.
  • Lead the implementation of robust well-being initiatives, supporting line managers in promoting staff welfare effectively.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for line managers covering performance management, conducting difficult conversations, investigations, and other relevant employee relations topics.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, offering advice on complex employee relations matters, coordinating responses to legal cases, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.
  • Advise leaders and managers on change management practices, including consultation processes, redeployment strategies, and addressing complex issues.
  • Build relationships with key contacts, providing support to hosted contracts and internationally mobile staff.
  • Take ownership of developing and implementing employee relations policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance, and fostering a positive organizational culture.
  • Develop and implement effective methods for collecting, analysing, and reporting data on staff turnover and exit reasons.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in employee relations, ideally within unionized environments.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Proven track record in leading and managing complex employee relations cases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all organisational levels.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work in multicultural and diverse environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
