This post is to manage and provide training on the chemotherapy e prescribing system.

To manage the submission of the SACT dataset each month as per NHS England requirements. Working closely with the chemotherapy pharmacy team and collaboratively with managerial, clinical and operational staff to provide high quality patient activity information analysis, dataset compliance and accurate reporting of SACT data.

Main duties of the job

To be part of the larger Oncology and palliative care directorate team providing teaching/advising/troubleshooting for e-prescribing to system users.

To assist directorate management and pharmacy with business intelligence for chemotherapy services. This includes business planning and modelling, income support, data quality, statutory and corporate reporting and an adhoc request service.

Education & Qualifications

Essential


  • Degree level or equivalent experience (relevant to role).
  • Extensive experience in analytics role.

Desirable


  • Management qualification or equivalent experience
  • Qualification in Project Management

Experience & Knowledge

Essential


  • Extensive experience in Health Informatics experience
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of mandatory reporting requirements, NHS data standards and definitions
  • Advanced knowledge and competent use of Patient Administration System and other HealthCare I.T. systems, all Microsoft Office packages especially Excel and Access.
  • SQL experience

Desirable


  • Experience of e-Prescribing systems and projects
  • Knowledge of Data Protection Act

Skills & Abilities

Essential


  • Administrative and organisational skills
  • Numerate with statistical skills and interpretive reporting including ability to apply and analyse data using Statistical Process Control.
  • Ability to listen and interpret users needs and to inspire confidence
  • Ability to relay information and train staff on a one to one basis
