We are looking for a dynamic Programme Manager experienced in delivering Software/Digital/IT programmes of work, who shares our passion for driving innovation. We are going on an exciting journey, and we need more like-minded travellers to help us get there

About the role:

We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Programme Manager to oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex software projects for our customers (internal and external).

As a Programme Manager, you will be responsible for mentoring Project Managers, managing resources, and ensuring that all deliverables are completed within the defined scope, budget, and timeline.

Your exceptional leadership skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams will be crucial in driving the success of the programme.

What you’ll do:

· Programme Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to define programme objectives, scope, and success criteria to produce a clearly defined programme plan with clear milestones and dependencies.

· Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, resources, and dependencies to ensure successful delivery of the programme.

· Programme Execution: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to execute programme plans effectively, working with both internal and external parties. Monitor and track progress, ensuring adherence to programme milestones and deliverables. Address any issues or roadblocks promptly to keep the programme on track.

· Programme Reporting: Measure and report against programme metrics and key performance indicators. Develop a portfolio dashboard to provide a high-level overview of programme status, and a deep dive into specific elements (e.g. tasks, milestones, budget, and resourcing) to inform decision-making

· Resource Management: Working with the Product and Delivery heads to identify and allocate resources required for programme implementation. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure appropriate resource availability throughout the programme lifecycle.

· Stakeholder Communication: Establish effective communication channels to provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding programme status, risks, and mitigation strategies. Facilitate productive meetings and presentations to align stakeholders on programme goals and progress.

· Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks and Issues and develop proactive mitigation plans. Regularly assess programme risks and implement necessary adjustments to minimize their impact. Escalate critical issues to senior management as required.

· Team Collaboration: Foster collaboration within the project management team and wider teams so that interdependencies are identified early and planned ensuring smooth programme delivery.

· Change Management & Control: Assess the impact of changes including scope within the programme and effectively communicate them to relevant stakeholders. Develop change management strategies to mitigate resistance and ensure smooth programme implementation.

· Lessons Learned: Facilitate programme reviews and post-mortem analyses to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned in future programmes.

About you:

You will have a background working within Software or hardware product companies. You will be used to working with a high degree of autonomy. You will be an effective communicator and a great negotiator who thrives under pressure.

You will be the champion that pulls all of the teams and moving parts together to successfully deliver the programme.

Must Have’s:

· Proven experience as a Programme Manager or in a similar role, managing large-scale programmes from initiation to completion.

· Proven experience in delivering Software /Digital/IT programmes of work.

· Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (from junior to board level)

· Demonstrated ability to work in a date-driven, ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment while prioritising and managing multiple responsibilities.

· Experienced in measuring and reporting against programme metrics and key performance indicators. Including milestones, budget, and resourcing to inform decision-making.

· Extensive knowledge of project & programme management principles and practices and their application in medium to large organisations

· Excel at working with and communicating effectively with customers, third party providers and partners to deliver programme outcomes.

· Expertise in techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programmes.

· An aspiration for planning excellence, using knowledge sharing to learn from each other.

· The ability to see errors and mistakes as an opportunity to learn and improve.

· A holistic approach to a programme, the plans you develop and the views of your colleagues.

· The desire and ability to proactively communicate in an inclusive way.

Nice to Have’s:

· Experience as a leader and mentor for project teams in a matrixed environment

· Experience working within the hospitality industry.

· Experience working within a PMO.

· Experience in Agile programme Management approach

· Knowledge of change management principles

· Experienced working with Software delivery tools and reporting from them such as Azure Dev Ops or Jira.

· University level education or professional qualifications gained through industry.

· A background in software and/or product development
