Bristol City Council has set up a Damp and Mould Taskforce in line with the Housing Ombudsman's recommendations and ready for the new Consumer Standards now in force. This team are being expanded to ensure we meet customer demands and attain compliance under the Safety and Quality Standard. This is an exciting opportunity as we are looking for a Trade Manager to join Housing Repairs and Maintenance to lead this new team, making a big difference to the lives of our residents.

The Response Repairs Team focuses on delivering high quality, cost effective responsive repairs to a large variety of properties amongst our 27,500 homes for residents. The Damp and Mould Taskforce manage all incoming reports of damp or mould, triaging cases, carrying out a Rapid Response to resolving leaks and treating mould. They work closely with the other trade teams, the surveying and disrepair team to ensure all cases are fully resolved.

You will be leading a team of mixed trades and support staff, providing repairs and improvements to tenanted council properties across the city in order to combat their damp and mould issues. Improving customer experience through careful management of the resources to provide first time fixes wherever possible will be a central part of this job.

You will need a trade management background, with a good understanding of a range of trades and general construction, with either a trade or technical qualification. We are looking for someone who has great people, communication and leadership skills to support the team as they grow and develop in this critical area of service, improving the customer journey.
