Private Networks (Electricity) Business Development Manager

Role Purpose

To deliver target levels of Private Network connections (in terms of volume and value) by

the promotion of ESP’s Private Network Adoption strategy, building strong, trusting relationships with clients, partners, and collaborators. The identification, development and contracting for private network opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable, as part of the Delivery team, to deliver Private network adoption volume and value targets.
  • Meeting with prospective clients to understand and document their requirements, articulating the benefits and value add of the private network proposition. Qualify these opportunities to determine whether they are worth pursuing.
  • Nurture selected client relationships, building trust and confidence in ESP, operating within the ESP account management guidelines
  • Work with the I&C Delivery Director to prioritise leads, opportunities and relationships to ensure optimum use of time and capacity.
  • Conduct research, identify and develop new leads and business opportunities.
  • Negotiate commercial contracts in line with the company’s rules and guidelines.
  • Support the onboarding of newly acquired work into the wider delivery team.

Key Skills

  • Highly motivated individual with proven technical and commercial experience as a business development manager, sales executive, or other relevant role in the electricity distribution sector, ideally with a current network of contacts useful to the private network equipment supply and/or network COMA agreement strategy.
  • Strong contract negotiator with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated with the ability to operate autonomously, but must ultimately thrive as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills.
  • Persuasive manner, tenacious attitude and confident communication and presentation skills.
