At the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) some 2,000 Met Command & Control (MetCC). Staff perform an extremely challenging and demanding job. To make sure they’re well looked after, we’re creating a brand new team. If you have the drive to support our MetCC workforce, you could be part of this newly created unit. Compassionate and caring? We could have a home for your skills.

In this key role, you’ll be part of a specialist team that will encourage and support staff welfare for Met Command & Control. MetCC provides London with its police response service, handling some 13,000 emergency and non-emergency phone calls and 12,000 interactions via our digital platforms 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It’s a fast-moving environment, where every day is different; and with a workforce of almost 2,000 people split between three sites in London, MetCC is the largest police Command & Control centre in the UK.

Join us, and you’ll be there for MetCC, providing pro-active support and assistance to the entire MetCC workforce. You’ll enhance our rewards and recognition programme and see that good work never goes unnoticed. There will also be the opportunity to support the delivery of key strategies including the MetCC People Strategy and the Employee Engagement Programme. But ultimately, it’s about improving wellbeing and inclusivity within the Command and creating a healthy, happy workforce.

At this level, you’ll need relevant experience - but that’s not all. We’re looking for naturally compassionate people who will work with colleagues to provide welfare support services and help first line managers.

In return for your skills and effort, we can offer excellent career development, a highly rewarding role and a competitive salary, which includes an additional 12.5% Shift Disturbance Allowance and enhanced rates for working weekends (approximately one per month).

The Role

Met Command & Control (MetCC) provides London with its police response service, handling some 13,000 emergency and non-emergency phone calls and 12,000 interactions via our digital platforms 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Naturally this means we have a fast-paced dynamic environment, where no two days will be the same; and with a workforce of almost 2000 people split between three geographical sites in London we are the largest police Command & Control centre in the UK.

We are looking for people-focused individuals to join our newly formed Welfare Support Team. The team is being established to improve the support offered to our workforce and to enhance how we recognise and reward our teams. You will assist in the delivery of improving wellbeing within our command, reducing abstractions in the workplace. You will support staff and managers through the Attendance Management Policy, to ensure wellbeing services are offered to staff. You will promote engagement across the command and assist in creating a culture of inclusivity and confidence throughout the command.
