Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the fabulous NEL ICB Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation team. The team works as a multi-disciplinary group of individuals, who operate with a broad range of skills and experience. We are key enablers for collaboration and integration across all health and social care partners in the NEL Integrated Care System. As a team player you will be supported to fully commit to this way of working, especially with regards to transformational work with medicines and pharmacy.

Main duties of the job

The NEL Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation team is working to achieve equitable access and outcomes of medicines for local people across North East London, working with a wide range of stakeholders and professionals to deliver outputs for our residents that support cost effective, safe prescribing with access to evidence-based medicines.

This role will involve reviewing funding requests, for both National Tariff excluded Drugs and clinical procedures, predominantly from secondary care organisations via the National database Blueteq. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the database through routine processes; producing reports from the database as required by the team and other relevant tasks.

The post holder will have excellent communication, IT and interpersonal skills and will be provided with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in the role.
