Liberty has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager for planned work and construction services across the Liberty Group to join our team

Responsibilities for this Senior Commercial Manager Planned Works & Construction role are:

To develop, implement and operate a sustainable and resilient offering for planned work and construction services across the Liberty Group. These include contracts for programmes of planned work (e.g. kitchens and bathroom schemes) and one off refurbishment and/or construction projects, which include some exciting decarbonisation opportunities.

Initially, this role will be accountable to develop a business case for an enhanced and robust delivery infrastructure including but not limited to:

  • Estimating and business development resource
  • Project controls capability e.g project planning
  • Other professional roles
  • An appropriate supply chain
  • A robust solution to sub-contracting and contract administration activities
  • An appropriate balance of self-delivery v’ subcontracting
  • For the return on investment, a solid pipeline of opportunities and prediction of market share

Liberty already has excellent people, systems and processes delivering this type of work, however with our aspirations for future growth it is recognised that an enhanced and more robust and resilient infrastructure is required. This role will be responsible for the implementation of the business case once signed off.

Once implemented, the role will be accountable for risk and opportunity management for the life cycle of all our planned work and construction contracts from bidding to close, including the coordination of all three Liberty business units where applicable e.g. decarbonisation schemes.

What we are looking for in our ideal Senior Commercial Manager Planned Works & Construction:

BSC in relevant quantity surveying/ commercial management discipline. Relevant construction background is essential and experience within a social housing environment is desirable.
