An exciting and interesting opportunity has arisen to join the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust's ("RDUH") People Development & Education Service as the Head of Clinical Multi-Professional Education and Professional Development. Reporting to the Associate Director of People Development, you will play a pivotal role leading on our clinical workforce development, shaping our Clinical Multi Professional Clinical Development and Education service by taking strategic responsibility for the following:
Clinical Professional Education, Training and Development across all our clinical workforce groups, all clinical roles including medical education. Working collaboratively with senior clinical colleagues and external NHS/further education organisations in demand planning, educational contracts, clinical bids and building strong strategic relationships.
Taking an equitable multi-professional clinical development & educational approach to all our clinical workforce areas and roles ensuring equity of the people development, training & education service.
Leading the existing and introducing new clinical education, learning and development blended programmes of work to meet the needs of our Trust wide strategic clinical workforce plans and local service requirements to ensure our colleagues have the right clinical knowledge, skills, clinical competencies and confidence they require to deliver safe and effective patient care.
Be the strategic clinical development & education conduit to our Senior Clinical colleagues in service, forge strong partnerships, be an integral part of the senior teams to support decision-making on new ways of working, clinical workforce strategies and anticipating the changes needed in clinical colleagues knowledge, skills, competencies and translating this into new training, development and education programmes for their team to design, deliver support.
Demonstrate and ensure the effectiveness of all clinical training, development and education. Creation and management of a clinical development dashboard to show return on investment and visibility of all clinical training, development and education delivered to our colleagues. 
Take a continuous improvement approach to all development & education, reviewing effectiveness. Taking an agile approach, being comfortable to challenge “how does this need to change/be done differently” to support our colleagues and the needs of our clinical services.
Utilising digital learning technology to enhance and support a blended learning approach on the delivery of development & education, monitoring improvements to the learner experience and ensuring learning is efficient and reaches all different learning styles/ways of working and divergent groups.
You will work closely with the Directors of Nursing, Chief Nursing Officer, Medical Directors and with the Associate Director of People Development to ensure that all areas of Clinical Training, Development & Education are in line with the wider NHS national workforce plan, Trust wide Strategy and People & Culture Strategy workforce ensuring we work in line with any clinical national guidance and new professional practices. 
You will be a subject matter expert on clinical education, clinical people development and pathways. You will also be used to working in a complex matrix organisation with a multitude of senior stakeholders, including medical and clinical workforce groups.
