Ricefield Arts & Cultural Centre is a registered charity and social enterprise for the exploration and promotionof Chinese culture and has an excellent reputation for delivering original and inspiring creative experiences,cultural events and workshops to community groups, public institutions and arts audiences around Scotland.
The Treasurer will be responsible formanaging all financial matters on behalf of our organisation and will be responsible for ensuring that theorganisation has robust financial processes to ensure it meets its legal and constitutional requirements. Itwill also be the responsibility of the Treasurer to report the financial position at the board meetings. Whilewe encourage and welcome applicants of all backgrounds, we are keen to hear from candidates that have experienceof charity financial management or are chartered in a suitable accountancy field.
All Trustees are required to attend monthly board meetings, either at our office located in the heart of Glasgow citycentre or via Zoom. In addition, we ask Trustees to attend our annual board development day, important meetingswith stakeholders and some events and projects, where possible. Neither the Trustees nor Board of Directors receive any remuneration,however, travel expenses incurred in carrying out board duties will be fully reimbursed.
Refugee Sanctuary Scotland (Formerly Refugee Survival Trust) provides help for refugees in Scotland who have beenmade homeless and destitute by the asylum system.
Refugee Sanctuary Scotland Trustee - Treasurer (Volunteer):
As Treasurer, you will be responsible for managing all financial matters onbehalf of Refugee Sanctuary Scotland and will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation has robustfinancial processes to ensure it meets its legal and constitutional requirements. It will also be theresponsibility of the Treasurer to report to the Board of Trustees on its state of financial health. The Board meets online every six weeks for up to two hours, with some additional time required for financial matters;We are looking for a trustee who has experience of working in the voluntary, public or private sector who want tobecome actively involved in progressing intergenerational work across Scotland. Marketing and Communications (including digital)
•Our Trustees are responsible and accountablefor the overall strategic leadership and direction of the organisation and share our vision and passion aboutpromoting strong, generationally connected communities.
Four online board meetings (normally held on a Wednesday, 5.The Annual General Meeting (online) – November 2024
• Occasional GWT Conferences/ Parliamentary receptions or other events.
Much of the subgroup work is done viaemail and video conferencing.
Our vision is to live in a Scotland where different generations are more connected, where everyone has opportunities to build relationships that help to create a more inclusive society.
Intergenerational work means relationship-based projects, activities and events where people of differentgenerations, who might not otherwise meet, do things together in positive and creative ways. It includes anyactivities which purposefully ignore, remove or break down social, environmental, cultural or institutionalbarriers between generations e.g. ageism, making spaces for older & younger people to meet naturally, get toknow each other, share ideas, pass on &/or learn new skills, work together to identify solutions toproblems, addressing challenges in their communities, all the while forging relationships and friendships.
As a membership and capacity-building organisation, GWT operate locally and nationally raising awareness, sharing andexpanding knowledge and understanding of intergenerational practice and its impact. We provide training andwide-ranging resources and organise learning events and facilitate local and thematic networking opportunities,to enable high quality intergenerational activity to take root on the ground & flourish. GWT lead anddeliver pilot projects to support and encourage the development and delivery of intergenerational practice innew settings. We also participate in research projects and scan relevant research taking place across the worldfor distilling and sharing with our members and others.

The next three years looks very exciting with GWT developing new programmes of work including support to theworkplace, a new corporate plan, manifesto and on top of our normal networks and training programme an eventscalendar which includes the following:
• 2025 – National Conference to be held in the Highlands celebrating local grassroot work (possibly May or Sept)
• 2026 – Global Intergenerational Conference in Glasgow in partnership with the International Consortium ofIntergenerational Programmes (possibly May or Sept)

The Board has overall responsibility for governance and strategic direction of Blue Triangle, and we are seekingindividuals who have a real desire and interest in helping deliver our ambitious aims and objectives. We arecurrently looking for individuals with demonstrable financial and commercial experience, with a strong focus onbudget management. As a voluntary position, it will not be paid but travel and other expenses for attendance at meetings are reimbursedin line with our policy.
