Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom Horatio's Garden Charity Full time
Horatio's Garden is an award winning, national charity creating and caring for beautiful gardens in NHS spinal injury centres. Top garden designers, who work in collaboration with all the spinal injury centre stakeholders, design the gardens. The charity maintains the gardens with a Head Gardener and a team of volunteers who work under their leadership.

Music, arts activities and garden therapy are organised by the charity's team to offer the gentle side of rehabilitation to patients who spend so long in hospital following life changing injuries.

Role

We're looking for an Arts Activities Assistant to facilitate a wide variety of arts workshops and events in Horatio's Gardens which are relaxing, therapeutic and enjoyable for participants.

In this new role, you will be working to extend the existing weekday arts programme into evenings and weekends.

The role includes four main areas:
1) To research, assess and recruit talented creative people in the local area, building up a bank of the best quality artists, craftspeople and musicians around,

2) To efficiently manage the administrative side of the role, including recruitment, advertising and running activities, ordering materials and budget-monitoring. You'll also collect feedback from patients, their visitors and NHS staff at the end of the sessions.

3) To work alongside creative people who will lead the workshops. You will be hosting the sessions in the garden, ensuring all aspects of the sessions run smoothly.

You'll be responsible for coordinating catering arrangements, serving food and drinks, promoting activities and helping patients to come out to the garden.

4) You may be required to run creative workshops yourself so a creative flair is also essential.

This is a part-time role, 10 hours a week, consisting of one weekday evening (approx. 2.5 hours), one weekend afternoon (approx. 4 hours) and approximately 3.5 hours of admin time a week. You will need to be flexible with your availability.

You will be based at Horatio's Garden Scotland at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. The admin part of the role can be completed from your home. You must have a full, clean driving licence and use of a car.

The role is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic all-rounder to be involved in a dynamic, young charity, helping to make a difference to people who have experienced spinal injuries.

You will be reporting to trustee Victoria Holton. The role is a twelve-month contract and a PVG check will be carried out before the role can commence.

The role will include:
