Bridging the Gap (Glasgow) is a Glasgow wide community charity established in 1998 working to 'bridge the gap' incommunities, removing barriers to participate in activities whilst working towards the reduction of social andeconomic inequality and stigma.

Ideally you will have experience of working at a senior management level and will have a deep understanding of thenature of accountancy, community development and the stigma that is attached to poverty.

The board meets quarterly, either face-to-face, via video chat, or as a hybrid of the two.

The Treasurer is a voluntary role but Bridging the Gap (Glasgow) will cover relevant out-of-pocket travel and otherexpenses that would allow you to attend meetings.

Aside from the meetings, additional time consideration should be given to allow time to read through relevant papers,follow up on any action points, and may involve attending occasional additional meetings, events, or strategydays.

Impact Arts is a leading Scottish creative social enterprise and registered charity. 1 x Finance Co-optee to our Finance & HR Committee (meets 4 times/year)
~ Associates who bring specialist skills and experience that helps to inform strategic decisionmaking (do not attend quarterly Board meetings but are invited to attend annual Strategy Days and occasionalother thematic meetings with Trustees & staff)
~ Championing and promotingthe work of Impact Arts through their networks
~ Ensuring the organisation is professionally run, manages risk,operates strict financial controls and acts in accordance with its aims and objectives
~ Our current Board includes Trusteeswith a range of experiences including youth work, equalities, employability, mental health, social enterprise,placemaking, finance, HR and our youth Trustee with experience of Impact Arts' projects.

We have a Board skills matrix which helps to identify the mix of experience and knowledge on our Board and alsohighlights what gaps exist and what priorities we should have for future recruitment.

We are keen to ensure that our Board is representative of those we aim to support through our delivery and as such weparticularly welcome applications from people with diverse lived experienceto bring diversity of voice to ourBoard – being Black, Asian, Mixed Ethnic and/ or a person of colour, LGBTQI, living with a disability, careexperience.

This post is not remunerated however reasonable expenses are payable in line with our standard expenses policy.

We're looking to appoint new members to our Board of Trustees, to help develop our long-term plans and oversee theirdelivery.

If you're passionate about the environment and community climate action, have good independentjudgement and are a strong strategic thinker, this could be a great role for you.

~ Close the Gap is operating a hybrid working model, with the option to work from the Buchanan Street office or fromdesk space in Edinburgh. An expectation to work from the office one day per week.

To work with employers across the public and third sectors in Scotland to progress gender equality and preventviolence against women, by engaging with Close the Gap's Equally Safe at Work accreditation programme.

To build capacity in employers and relevant stakeholders on key topics related to women'slabour market equality.

Equally Safe at Work is Close the Gap's innovative, world-leading employer accreditation programme which enablesorganisations to develop improved gender-sensitive employment practice, and prevent violence against women.

Initially piloted with a group of early adopter councils, Equally Safe at Work has proven to be an effectivevehicle for change with 18 employers now accredited, and almost 40 organisations engaged in the Equally Safe atWork community of practice.

Close the Gap is Scotland's expert policy advocacy organisation working on women's labour market participation. Ourvision is for a Scotland where all women have a good working life.

We do this by influencing policymakers todevelop and implement gender-competent policy around women's labour market participation; developing researchand insight into women's diverse experiences of employment; and designingguidance and tools to build capacity in trade union reps to advance women's workplace equality.
