An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8a MSK Clinical Services Manager in the Richmond MSK Services. The role may also involve some clinical work as an advanced practitioner in the MSK Triage interface service.
The Richmond MSK Services consist of a general MSK Physiotherapy service (including women's health), an MSK Triage interface service and the administration team.
You should be a highly specialised, enthusiastic musculoskeletal physiotherapist who currently works at advanced practice level, or someone who is ready to take that next career step in joining an established supportive MSK team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a well-established MSK service.

- To be accountable for the delivery of the MSK services to meet the commissioners service specifications, quality standards, activity targets and clinical outcomes.
- To provide line management and clinical leadership for the MSK services clinicians being accountable for the delivery of efficient and effective services which are consistent with policies, procedures and good practice whilst fostering, developing and delegating ownership and autonomy of local service pathways to the clinicians and administrative support staff.

- Degree qualification or equivalent level of study at Masters level or above
- Current registration as AHP
- Post graduate management qualification (e.g. Diploma in Management Studies) or equivalent experience
- Post graduate knowledge in a related specialist area gained through study days, short courses and experience
- Understanding of current legislation and professional body standards (NMC/HCPC) and their implementation in practice
- understand Health and safety and personal safety issues
- Good financial awareness and resource control to operate within budget
- Leading, managing and motivating staff including performance management and staff development to deliver high quality results
- Working at an advanced practice level in MSK Specialty
- Understanding of current and emerging health and social care policy and strategies
- Risk assessment and management and identifying and managing risk
- Managing successful change programmes, working across clinical service areas to improve and develop service delivery.
- Ability to resolve complex clinical issues
- Ability to build the teams to a high-performance level, conducive to professional development and team cohesiveness
- Ability to have difficult conversations with staff in line with HR policies
- Ability to work within set timeframes working to priorities and deadlines
- Effective leadership skills and ability to delegate tasks to appropriately trained staff
- Ability to communicate and negotiate across a range of audiences and organisations
- Professional and management supervision, appraisal and objective setting
- Coaching, mentoring, conflict management and/or mediation skills
