Key Responsibilities :

  • Sets IG programme goals and objectives in our offices globally that support and enhance compliance with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements of our clients.
  • Develops procedures and processes for ensuring the classification, confidentiality, data privacy, data protection, retention and disposition of client and firm information.
  • Takes ownership of privacy compliance requirements including breach management, data subject access requests and records of processing activity compliance.
  • Assists senior management and lawyers in identifying and containing risks relating to data privacy and data protection.
  • Support internal, client and regulatory audits into compliance for information governance and privacy
  • Fosters a risk management compliance culture.
  • Develops and implements plans, strategies, and policies that improve our posture as it relates to information governance, data privacy, data protection, and other information governance functions and services.

What We're Looking For:

  • Candidates with an educational background from a wide variety of disciplines including information technology, legal, compliance, data privacy, information management, records management, or information security will be considered.
  • An advanced degree in an information governance-related field or law is desired; an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in information governance, records management, data privacy, data protection, or related area in a highly sophisticated legal, professional services, consulting or corporate environment.
  • Broad knowledge of information governance, data privacy, and data protection laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong strategic, interpersonal and organisational skills required.
  • Must demonstrate a risk management mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Executive presence required for productive partner and executive management collaboration.
  • Proven record of leading individual and team accomplishments in high visibility, high impact change management initiatives.
