A French patisserie bakery, in conjunction with their retail business, is seeking a creative and experienced development chef specialising in patisserie. This role emphasizes product development and leadership, catering to a growing business. The ideal candidate will manage the team daily and spearhead new product creation, actively collaborating with the patisserie, shop, and office teams to realize the company's vision for its clientele.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Directors to plan and price menus and food items for the year.
  • Oversee preparation and cooking within the pastry section
  • Assist in ordering and obtaining supplies for the pastry section.
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members in line with agreed criteria.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints within agreed criteria.
  • Allocate workloads effectively among team members.
  • Work in the kitchen with the team to deliver the products to the shop and wholesale clients.
  • Maintain high-quality standards and accurate records.
  • Conduct quality control of supplies, food, and kitchen hygiene.
  • Manage resources responsibly and control expenses within budgetary limits.


Leadership:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee operational functions and strive for profitability while aligning with business objectives
  • Regularly assess customer satisfaction and implement feedback to enhance service quality
  • Effectively distribute responsibilities ensuring equitable task management within the team

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior pastry chef role.
