Our Community Healthcare Support Service model forms a nationwidenetwork of local support groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping families adjust to lifewith a heart or lung condition, long covid or after a stroke.

To support the delivery of our ambitious NLHL strategy, CHSS seeks to appoint a Head of Professional Engagement whowill lead the operational delivery of all of our education and health information services for health careprofessionals across the country and service users alike.

This critical role will have responsibility for the creation and execution of a professional engagement strategy,including a clear CHSS prospectus for continuing professional development for health care professionals workingwith those with our conditions, and the design, development and implementation of a new CHSS Learning ManagementSystem.

CHSS is in search of a leader with an exceptional knowledge of the health & social care landscape and whounderstands the evolving educational needs of health Care professionals who work within those environments. Theyshould have a background of working with educational and / or health information services and have the abilityto lead a team to deliver an educational prospectus that provides a quality of experience that matches healthcare professionals needs and expectations and demonstrably adds value to the wider health/social care systemswithin which we operate.

You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions tolive life to the full again. The Advice Line service is a free and confidential helpline that supports peopleliving with our conditions to ensure that live no life is half lived.

The Advice Line Call Coordinator will respond to incoming phone calls/e-mails/text messages and direct service usersto the appropriate people/team within CHSS and be responsible for administration duties related to the AdviceLine with support from a team of volunteers. This role is home based but occasional travel across Scotland willbe required.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with good communication skills who have a minimum 2 years’ experienceworking in a similar role within a health/social care setting and a basic understanding of medical terminology.Experience of recruiting and line managing volunteers is desirable.

Our Community Healthcare Support Services form a nationwide network of localsupport groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping families adjust to life with a heart orlung condition or after a stroke.

The role of the Kindness Call Coordinator is to manage a telephone support service operating across the country,assisting those living with our conditions, who have become lonely or socially isolated.

Our Kindness Call Service is designed to provide a listening ear and an opportunity for those using the service totalk about what matters to them, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation and supporting themto live life to the full. Our trained kindness volunteers make regular calls, forming reassuring and encouragingrelationships and are supported by the Kindness Call Coordinator.

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude towards people with disabilities and long-term conditions; anunderstanding of the challenges faced by people with cardiac, respiratory and stroke conditions as well as LongCovid; an understanding of community service provision; the ability to recruit, manage and motivate a team ofvolunteers; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

As this post is not a face-to-face role, applicants can be situated anywhere in the country.
