Permanent Design Coordiantor Role

The Company

A UK major main construction and engineering contractor with over 100 years' experience in the build industry. They have a vast portfolio of developments and have successfully delivered projects in excess of 4m+ which has allowed them to provide construction solutions to some of the world's most successful and enduring businesses.

The Project

As an M&E Design Coordinator you will work closely with the design team on numerous projects including new build accommodation and commercial buildings across the North West. You will review, negotiate and recommend during the approval / disapproval stages of design change orders and liaise with the wider team to ensure design and plans are adhered to.

  • Previous experience of working on similar new build projects within the residential / commercial sector
  • Proficient in the use of internet applications and MS Office Software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously, aligning with corporate, client, and project requirements, even with minimal supervision

Duties

  • Assisting with client orders
  • Working with procurement and logistics
  • Helping implement health and safety policies
  • Working closely with the supply chain and clients
  • Coordinating training sessions for staff on new projects
  • Organising schedules for installations and maintenance
  • Handling reports for defects and coordinating site surveys
  • Tracking project progress to identify and resolve any issues that arise
  • Ensuring projects finish on time, including system commissioning and testing
  • Providing internal and client-facing technical support, particularly for troubleshooting
  • Assisting in ensuring the quality of work meets company standards and client expectations
  • Handling paperwork for projects such as drawings, technical details, timesheets, and reports
  • Managing warranties, maintenance contracts, and addressing client concerns after installations
  • Assisting in obtaining permits and ensuring health and safety documents are in order for projects
  • Keeping clients informed about project progress, addressing their questions and collecting feedback
  • Ensuring all projects meet safety standards by providing necessary documents and quality assurance
  • Monitoring and allocating project resources, reporting on labour levels, and coordinating with our workforce
  • Communicating effectively with engineers and installers to manage project details, troubleshoot issues, and provide support
